Do you always bring a gift to someone's house if they invite you over for dinner? If so, what do you normally bring?

I do not bring a gift either because we all eat over at eachothers houses alot. Usually I just offer to bring dessert, drinks or an appetizer.  Gift giving can become a burden rather than an unexpected blessing if it gets to the point where it is "expected" every time you eat over at someone's house. Money is tight for everyone, so this would be one of the first cutbacks for me!

It depends if I go oer the other person's house regularly....for the most part though I do bring somethign.  I happen to start my own biz bsed on being tired of always bringing a bottle of wine...I now have Pretty Stoned and Wired!....which allows me the benefit of bringing a beautifully embellished, hand made, one of a kind pie server, or other serving utensil, just to mention 1 of the many things I make.
